A new Story

Jamie had been my daughter Corrinas boyfriend since they were both 15 and there is no doubt in my mind that he would have become her husband in the near future. She adored him and he adored her. They were soulmates and had their future together planned.A cottage in the country, pygmy goats and a tank for him in the garden. We loved him also and regarded him as part of our family.Jamie was strong willed and independent-way ahead of his years. He was an apprentice welder and travelled to work and college on his motorbike. In 2013 he and Corrina took their first holiday to Whitby-they loved it there-and Jamie immediately booked again for the following year.In the meantime Jamie took driving lessons and passed his test first time.He wanted to be able to travel independently to Whitby but couldnt afford the insurance for a car only being 18-so he looked for alternatives. And he decided to buy a road adapted quad bike.We were terrified but Jamie was confident he could handle it.It arrived on the Saturday and he was so excited. He took it for a couple of runs then on Tuesday the 23rd of September decided to take it to work.He was killed instantly after attempting to overtake a car despite wearing full protective gear including a helmet on the way to work. And its looking like it was inexperience on the quad-there is no legal requirement other than a driving license to ride one-no training required. His family are devastated as is mine.A wonderful young man with everything in front of him gone in an instant.
